Big Bang to Humankind

I thought it was really interesting how we can use so many small clues to figure out how people thousands or millions of years ago lived; from the wear on their teeth to minerals at different sites that indicate trade patterns.

I was confused about the third question on the Module 19 quiz - my impression from the lecture was that Potassium Argon dating was used for rocks, but the question seems to indicate that it can also be used for human remains? My other thought is that Potassium Argon dating could be used on the materials around the remains, but since the Rift Valley is a place with lots of tectonic plate movement, I would think that going off of close-by materials wouldn’t be fully reliable.
